Deciding on the flowers for your wedding can be overwhelming and tough.  How do you decide on the type of flowers and the colour combination, whilst keeping the look & feel right and within your budget?

Here are a few simple guidelines to help you:

Work with the existing look & feel of the venue

If you have an elegant & naturally beautiful venue, then make the most of it! You can use fewer flowers, so that you preserve its beauty & compliment the environment.
On the flip side, if your venue is not as attractive, but you are still on a tight budget, then use bold, vibrant, yet simple flowers which will attract the eye.

Simple Is Elegant

If you are working to a tight budget, then focussing on simplicity can certainly help, without compromising on the overall look & feel.  There are beautiful flowers available that don’t have to cost the earth – talk to your florist about the options.

Consider the Season

Another way to work to a budget is to consider the flowers that are going to be in season at the time of your wedding. They tend to be easier to find & therefore a lot less in price! For example:

Spring: Tulips, violets, pansies, peonies, ivy, daffodils, lilies, dogwoods, irises, hyacinth, sweet peas, fern, forsythis branches, apple or cherry blossums

Summer: Roses, daisies, dahlias, iris, larkspur, calla lilies, sweet william, sunflowers, hydrangeas, delphinium, geraniums, beach leaves, ferns, meadowsweet

Autumn: Marigolds, chrysanthemums, asters, roses, zinnias, gerbera daisies, autumn leaves, yarrow, rosemary and rosehip

Winter: Poinsettias, orchids, amaryllis, camellias, jasmine, forget-me-nots, complimented with pine, ivy, fern, spruce, rhododendron leaves
